As a mama, I love (and can relate to) the story behind Cece’s Veggies. The founder is a proud papa to a little girl with a gluten allergy. He was sick of serving her preservative-packed dried pasta substitutes, and wanted to find a way for her to quickly get fresh veggies in– with less prep and clean up, and more portability!
Cece’s Veggies was born, and is in a produce section near you! The things I love most about Cece’s (aside from the fresh taste and the fact that they use USDA certified organic vegetables):
1) The veggies are sustainably farmed! They are a zero food-waste operation, and all food scraps go to local farms to feed the cows and pigs! YAY.
2) How inclusive they are! You should really check out the Cece’s website’s “recipes” section! You can filter by dietary preference (ie: dairy-free, vegan, gluten-free, whole 30, etc.), your fave veggie, and meal type. For instance, I input “vegan; cauliflower; dinner,” and three amazing, easy recipes like this one popped up! For a burgeoning Betty Crocker like myself who needs a dummy-proof system in place, this is GOLD. All I need to do is have several Cece’s Veggies options on hand, and making fresh, organic, vegan and gluten-free meals for the family is a cinch.
3) The convenience! I can throw a Cece’s in my diaper bag and voila– even though I’m a sleep deprived mother of a newborn and have no bandwidth sometimes to put a ton of thought into meal planning, River can have a mess-free, nutritious lunch at school. Or I throw one in my computer bag, so that when I’m working at no-so-vegan-friendly Starbucks I’ll have a healthy vegan option on hand. For those like me who are just bareeeely getting by, much less making sure everyone is getting all of their fresh veggies in– Cece’s Veggies is a total lifesaver.
To all my busy bees and culinary goddess hopefuls: I hope you find this brand helpful! In Dallas, I’ve picked up my Cece’s at Sprouts, Kroger, and Whole Foods… But if you live elsewhere, you can find them HERE. And if you make a meal using Cece’s Veggies, tag me! I am always looking for some recipe inspo!
XOXO
