I don’t typically get starstruck. I went to university in LA… Not even just LA, but in Malibu, where you run into Jen Aniston while buying toilet paper and Halle Berry while renting a movie in your “fat day” sweatpants.
Stella McCartney, though, is at a different level for me. She is such a pioneer in women’s high fashion. She speaks out against animal cruelty, and she rescues farm animals to keep on her property for them to live out their lives in peace. She is a true lover of fashion but believes that animals don’t have to go through fear/pain/suffering in order for women to look amazing. Basically: I bow down.
So, when I got the call that I was invited to Saks Fifth Avenue’s Boston store to meet her (as in talk to her?!) attend a cocktail party with her (as in drink with her?!) and be the first to view/try on some of her new collection (..!!!), I needed to take a moment.
I’m on the plane to Boston now, browsing through some current Stella offerings, and had to share! Hope you love them as much as I do. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post, which will review the event and will likely be featuring either a) a pretty photo of myself looking composed and polished next to Stella McCartney, or b) an awkward photo of me with an overly-happy expression on my red face, about to pass out into a display of faux leather shoes.
