It’s October, which–just in case you haven’t noticed the pink worn by all around you, ribbons tied around trees, and pins clipped to the lapels– is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. According to the American Cancer Society, every 2 minutes a woman in the US is diagnosed with breast cancer. Early detection and screenings are crucial, hence the importance of increased awareness. I was so excited when I heard the news that one of my favorite animal-friendly handbag lines, Deux Lux, just came out with an active/sports line, DL Active. Think: backpacks, totes, duffles, and more. I don’t leave for the gym without my micro duffle; it has a subtle sheen to it, is available in a bunch of colors, and– while it is big enough to hold everything I need for my workout and then some– it somehow manages to be non-bulky and, for lack of a more sophisticated term, “cute.”
