I think we can all agree that J Crew is not my typical go-to when it comes to shopping.  But I also don’t believe in being close-minded; I like to check back into stores that I don’t usually frequent every now and again, to see how the brand has evolved.  I’ve always liked that J Crew isn’t afraid of using some color, and last week I found myself getting so excited about this vivid-hued, girly, super-flattering skirt and top set.  Plus– matching separates are my jam. The possibilities are endless when it comes to styling; you can toughen it up with some big black boots, or keep it simple with pumps.  It can easily be fall-and-winterized with a moto jacket and tights, and will obviously be perfect alone for spring and summer.  Bonus round: it comes in petite sizes for my fellow shorties in the house, and the light lavender color is great on any skin tone.

I paired the outfit with my favorite Bao Bao Issey Miyake bag.  I ADORE this line out of Thailand; the bags have such a unique “prism effect” aesthetic and lend some edge to any look.  They are animal-friendly, and are available in backpack, wristlet, tote, or shoulder bag form.  The line is also somewhat rare in the US; I love that I barely ever run into people with an Issey Miyake, but I did want to share my secret with you all 🙂  They have lots of color variety over at Saks.

I get compliments on these earrings from Barse everywhere I go.   They are unique, delicate little butterfly wings and are so lightweight I forget I have them on.

The boots are from all-vegan boutique in Australia (The Aussies are, in general, majorly on the veg train… woop woop!) called LC Lovechild. I love their mission. Check them out!
