dress (sale!): isabel marant // shoes: beyond skin
This dress, this dress, this DRESSSS. My favorite part about it: the combo of having the fit of an oversized-tee in front with the flattering and sexy ruching cinching you in in the back. Oh, and the fact that it’s 60% off, haha. If you buy, consider sizing up, she runs a tad small. (I’m wearing a size 38 FR.) You guys, I can’t tell you how excited I was that a high fashion designer like Isabel Marant, a longtime favorite of mine, has begun to incorporate vegan leather into her designs. Things really are changing for the more conscientious in the fashion world. (Not to mention– I would never be able to afford a dress made of animal leather by Isabel Marant, it would be about $1000.) You cannot tell AT ALL that this is faux leather… You’ll see. Yay for Isabel Marant taking a step towards being a kinder fashion label while still coming out with avant garde, beautiful pieces.
What can I say about the shoes? (Also available in brown/white.) Such a classic design, wearable with dresses and jeans alike. Beyond Skin is a UK company who makes beautiful, affordable, vegan, eco-friendly footwear because of their love of animals. And as they say on their website, they “work closely with [their] factories in Spain so we are all confident that no-one is exploited in the creation of your lovely shoes and endeavour to source our components and fabrics as locally to our factories as we possibly can to try and reduce [their] carbon footprint.” I’m listing some of my favorites from their lovely line for your viewing pleasure.
