I like old stuff. I can get lost for literally HOURS in a vintage or consignment shop or at a flea market, just touching and examining the clothing, furniture, and knick-knacks… Therefore I prefer to do my vintage shopping solo so as not to lose friendships or annoy my boyfriend. I can’t help it… These things have a past, and to me, they’ve got soul.
That being said, shopping vintage is:
a) a way to ensure that you aren’t accidentally “twinning” with anyone else at the party
b) a way to reduce buyer’s remorse ( I hear this is a thing); when you invest in gorgeous vintage clothing, you are essentially recycling. You reduce your carbon footprint by using less resources. Go you!
Here are a few vintage finds that may or may not be on my Christmas list:
1970’s Farrah ringer tee, cotton blend
1980’s-90’s Moschino body-con, Nylon/Cotton
1960’s tan faux leather satchel
1990’s French-made shaggy coat, cotton textile
