I’m so excited to introduce you to the family-owned, UK-based, eco-minded brand: FRiLuk Ltd! Founded by a vegan entrepreneur named Laurent Bleu (click here to hear his incredible accent), the company is uniquely community and customer-focused…Even as a blogger working with them, they reach out in a friendly and approachable manner somewhat often (but not annoyingly often!) to make sure that I have all the info I need, am 100% happy with the product, to see if I have any honest feedback for them; so it was unsurprising to me when I noticed the rave reviews across the board online when it came to FRiLuk’s customer service. And they offer worldwide shipping. So refreshing! FRiLuk uses natural materials like cork and bamboo to produce their small batches of vegan products (handbags, wallets, belts, and jewelry) for both men and women. And they don’t use just any cork– they use specialty premium cork from fabric from Portugal. I am obviously sweet on their handbags… I LOVE MINE! And I am planning on grabbing a belt soon for Matt, especially since they are so reasonably priced on top of being high quality, ethically made, and eco-friendly. I cannot say enough good things about this brand!
ABOUT MY BAG:
I went to my mother’s house to drop River off with her before my shoot with FRiLuk, and I had my handbag in tow. She (the ULTIMATE fashionista and unapologetic fashion snob who once worked as Neiman Marcus’ assistant) immediately said “Oh my gosh, I ADORE your bag!” It really is that good. It is so luxurious (especially the deep blue color– so rich and, for newbies to the eco-fashion scene who are just dipping their toe in– you’d never even guess it was made with cork!) I like the oversize perforations, and the hardware made of zamak. I don’t like a bag that is a “black hole” when you open it up, so I appreciate the contrasting light lining inside, as well as all of the practical compartments for your belongings. In terms of what you can’t see right away about the bag: I adore that it was ethically handmade by local artisans in Portugal, and that it contains no harmful chemicals– especially since I toss River’s bottle and paci in there when I’m on the go. The bag is lightweight but large enough to fit my laptop inside, waterproof, and fully recyclable. And I love that with my purchase, I am supporting good, ethical humans in addition to harming no animals!
